THE BIBLE, THE POWER OF THE WORD - and between the lines. by ASHER ELKAYAM. An Update on the Qur'An and Biblical Influences. The newly published book would be available at Xlibris or at www.quranandbibleinfluence.com
We have created for you a website for Bible lovers and people interested in Comparative Religions. The main event in this project is the new publication of the: The Bible, The Power of the Word, and between the Lines. Asher Elkayam, Author.
For those people who want to know more about the Bible and its hidden messages this website is for you.
As you go through the pages, you will discover some fascinating facts about the Book of Books. Something we may never notice when we just read it as a story. When we reread it and then some we then notice a word or two we did not pay attention before.
Have you ever wondered what was behind the names of many personalities in the Bible? Did you know that Abraham meant ' a father of a multitude'?. Sarah meant 'the female ruler'.
Did you know who made the first powerful speech in the Bible? Or who was the first businessman? Did you know that Geometry, Architecture, Art and Poetry are found all over the Bible?
What did God say on the 6th day of Creation that He did not say on the first 5 days?
Behind most names in the Bible there is a meaning. Joseph was nicknamed by Pharaoh: Tsofnat Pahneah, meaning decipherer of mysteries. Jacob and Ishmael had 12 sons each and they both headed 12 tribes each.
The sons of Jacob and the sons of Ishmael and their respective histories defined the future of the Holy Land and for that matter the Geography and History of the Middle East of today.
Joseph ended up in Egypt through divine intervention, to become second to Pharaoh and CEO of Egypt. His interaction with the Egyptians led the ground to an establishment in the land of Goshen for the Israelites.
The History of the Middle East took another turn upon the Exodus from Egypt some 210 years later (after the death of Joseph). This will bring us to the story of Moses.
Moses was the humblest of all men and he was the only prophet allowed to physically 'see' a semblance of God Himself (according to the Bible).
The Bible, The Power of the Word examines the Pentateuch and find the hidden meanings between the lines.
The author goes through every single Hebrew word in the original Bible and discovers facts and twists that trigger our curiosity.
Asher Elkayam has been studying the Bible since the young age of seven. Born in a Moroccan Jewish observant family, he was tutored by teachers and rabbis. He always wondered in the Biblical words had more than one meaning.
Between 1956 and 1964 he studied Hebrew studies in the Holy Land including Hebrew morphology(the study of word formation and their sounds) in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Asher has been, among other things, a dedicated Hebrew teacher, in the USA, for over 20 years. Most of his life has been touched, besides his professional occupation as a health care specialist, by Bible studies and practice of the traditional Jewish way of life.
Asher previously published a book on Memory techniques showing how to remember facts, figures, names, faces, ideas, concepts and anything that can be remembered by association (mnemonics). You may find this in another page of this website.
A second book, published, is a memoir-like history of an individual who went through four different cultures and four different continents and adapted to them while contributing to their respective societies.
Presently, Asher is planning a project about comparative religions and cultures related to the Old Testament. The Old and he New Testament and the Qur'An will be examined in relation to their
influence in this very troubled world.
This new project examines most leading world religions and finds common denominators and differences between them.
The above mentioned project promises to serve as a vehicle hoping to enable a peaceful raprochement between the major religions and cultures.
A pleasant update: It is our pleasure to announce that the Qur'An Book , named: The Qur'An and Biblical Origins: Christian, Hebrew and Aramaic influences in striking similarities.
This fascinating book analyzing those influences of the Old and the New Testament on the Qur'An and the striking similarity between the Arabic language and the Hebrew and Aramaic languages.
There are a few surprises in there for you. Things you might have never thought of, such : who lived in Arabia before the original Moslem Arabs lived there? A fascinating analysis is awaiting you. The Moslem religion has a lot of good moral lessons to offer to the whole world.

A FEW WORDS ON THE QUR'AN AND BIBLICAL INFLUENCES
This exciting project was meant at showing how the Bible has influenced many cultures and religions.
We can name the Qur'An, the basic Book of Islam. This holy masterpiece was inspired by the Hebrew forefathers and by the Biblical Scriptures covering some 2500 years till the advent of the Prophet Mohammad who initiated the Qur'An.
By reading and examining those comparisons between the 2 religions the reader becomes more understanding and accepting the fact that the other religion has something to offer to humanity.
Another project mentioned in this website is a brain teaser.
For those people who would love to enhance their mind and develop their skill in remembering information we have the Memory Book: YOUR MEMORY BANK AND HOW TO USE IT Written especially for students who attended memory courses using association techniques (mnemonics).

Asher Elkayam has many diverse interests beyond his position as the founder and President of Trutone/Westminster Hearing Aid Centers in Reisterstown, Maryland, where he serves as a licensed hearing instrument specialist.
Asher Elkayam, who is also known for authoring several expository books about religion, was a Memory Development Instructor for more than 20 years, teaching continuing adult education classes in Baltimore County, Maryland. Indeed, one of Asher Elkayams first forays into the world of self-publishing was a book about boosting ones memory.
Asher Elkayams book, Your Memory Bank and How to Use It, describes various techniques to help people develop a better memory. Many factors contribute to improving memory, such as eating nutritious foods, exercising, and getting a good nights sleep. But Asher Elkayams book teaches people the skills they need to remember facts, figures, names, faces, addresses, phone numbers, and practically any type of data that can be remembered through the use of a mnemonic device, which associates the memory with a more easily accessible cue that can be visual, verbal, or auditory. Asher Elkayams step-by-step method helps students advance from one level to the next at their own pace.
Another of Asher Elkayams passions is walking, which he believes is the easiest and most effective exercise. In his essays on the subject, he claims walking reduces stress and helps ones blood circulate more efficiently. Although Asher Elkayam personally prefers endurance walking, he points out that even leisurely walking can provide positive results. Asher Elkayam has written several articles on why walking is good for people, which he has published on his website, http://www.asher-elkayam.com/.
Asher Elkayam also believes strongly in the benefits of dancing; he is an avid swing and ballroom dancer and has been a member of various swing and ballroom clubs in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. As a veteran in the US Army, he supports causes such as Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, and various other related organizations.
In his book, One Family, Four Cultures, Four Continents, Asher Elkayam chronicles growing up in a Jewish family in Casablanca, French Morocco, and examines the surprisingly friendly ties between the Jewish minority and Muslim majority populations in North Africa. Tutored by rabbis, he recalls wondering from an early age whether words in the Bible had hidden meanings. During his teens, Asher Elkayams family relocated to Haifa, Israel, where he attended high school. His early interest in Biblical studies led him to enroll in Jerusalems Hebrew University, where he pursued his interest in Hebrew morphology, a branch of linguistics that addresses the structure and content of word forms; in addition to his work with the Hebrew language, he also completed coursework in political science and the humanities. Asher Elkayam then moved to France to study French literature at the Sorbonne in Paris, and eventually received a degree in international relations and political science from the University of Strasbourg. Following his graduation, Asher Elkayam traveled to the United States to enroll at Towson State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he earned his Master of Education.
Asher Elkayam launched his career as a multilingual educator in Hebrew studies and French, and also became a Memory Development Instructor in continuing adult education classes in Baltimore County. His inquiring mind and curiosity about communication drew him to explore the issues of the hearing impaired, and another career beckoned. Asher Elkayam went on to attain his board certification as a licensed hearing instrument professional, founding Trutone/Westminster Hearing Aid Centers in Reisterstown, Maryland. An accomplished writer, Asher Elkayam has authored books such as The Bible, The Power of the Word; The Qur'an And Biblical Origins; and Your Memory Bank and How to Use it. Asher Elkayam is currently working on his next project, which will explore comparative religions and is expected to be published by the end of 2011.
Educator, audioprosthologist, author, and lifelong student Asher Elkayam investigates the hidden messages in the Pentateuch in his book, The Bible, The Power of the Word. Born into an observant Jewish family in Casablanca, French Morocco, Asher Elkayam began his Torah studies at age seven, when he first questioned what hidden messages might be discovered between the lines of text.
In The Bible, The Power of the Word, Asher Elkayam undertakes an enormous task in examining every single word in the Torahs text to reveal such mysteries as the meaning of names of the Twelve Tribes, which Biblical figure made the most potent speech, who was the first businessman, and what God said on the sixth day that he neglected to say on the previous days of Creation, along with other fascinating stories.
Asher Elkayams thirst for knowledge first took him from Morocco to Israel. After earning his high school diploma in Haifa, Asher Elkayam subsequently attended Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where he studied political science, the humanities, and Hebrew morphology, a branch of linguistics that identifies, analyzes, and describes units of meaning. Asher Elkayam then left for France to study French literature at the Sorbonne and international relations and political science at the University of Strasbourg. He then journeyed to the United States and earned his Master of Education from Towson State University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he currently resides today.
Teaching Hebrew studies, French, and memory development was not enough of a challenge for Asher Elkayam, and his interest in communication extended to helping the hearing impaired. To that end, he became a licensed and board certified hearing instrument professional, establishing Trutone/Westminster Hearing Aid Centers in Reisterstown, Maryland.
Asher Elkayam has also written a memoir, One Family, Four Cultures, and Four Continents, as well as a self-help book, Your Memory Bank and How to Use It. In 2009, he published The Qur'an and Biblical Origins, as well as One Family, Four Cultures, and Four Continents. In 2011, Asher Elkayam published a new book on comparative religions titled WHOSE GOD IS IT ANYWYAY? (How World Religions Seek Peace But Find War Instead), which will contain an in-depth analysis of present leading faiths and their contributions to world peace.
